It appears I touched some nerves on the Blagosphere. I have to admit that singling out W&C wasn’t necessarily appropriate. I enjoy the blog, and they are a responsible local critic. I suppose my objective was more to highlight that it appears many outlets use the Barnett Shale when there is simply nothing better to write about.
It is healthy to have dialogue, critics, and whistle blowers. But the Barnett has seemed to push some illogically radical opponents. I see it all the time. I do think we should be very conservative with disposal wells, but I certainly don’t think the Barnett has destroyed the community. It certainly has made real estate more interesting.
