I am not sure how I missed this happening in Fort Worth. Must have been all the rain keeping me in. Apparently there was an exceptionally large rally in the Sundance Square area of Downtown. I found an article about it (with corresponding you tube video) the Durango Texas blog.
Now I know that I would botch this pretty badly, but the the 9/12 movement was organized as a general conservative political rally. Of course, this also corresponds with the larger one posed in DC this weekend. I believe that it was widley promoted by Glenn Beck (could be wrong?), and was generally to promote an attitude of fiscally responsability and Constitutional prudence in this country.
I have to say I agree with those motives. I agreed with them before Obama and I agree with them now. But I won’t won’t go into that, and obviously I don’t know much about the 9/12 thing. Anway, here’s a video.
There’s a new blog up and running, bonnie and blog. They say that it’s designed for Fort Worth “Hipsters”, (whatever that means). I am fairly sure that I could count myself right out of that crowd, I might still read it though.
Not really, but the PFunk Allstars did get rained out. Which is a pretty big bummer. Apparently if you bought a table or VIP tickets you can give your contact info to the organizers and they will let you know of a possible reschedule. You can contact them on their website here.
Now I just wonder when it’s going to stop raining.
Jazz by the Boulevard is having some pretty impressive headliners this year. George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic will be playing on Friday night. I have to say that this is pretty outstanding and certainly worth seeing. Sunday will be ending with the Blind Boys of Alabama. The group was at the first Annual Bonnaroo Festival, and they were pretty amazing then.
It’s all happening Friday September, 11th through Sunday the 13th. It’s a pretty impressive gig for Fort Worth, and I certainly think it’s worth attending.
