The average nationwide foreclosure rate in July was 2.8%. The Fort Worth / Arlington foreclosure rate was only 1.1% percent during the same time frame.

So basically, Fort Worth is twice as good as any other city. Especially Dallas.

We also made the top 10 list for expected performance in home prices.

Just something to make you feel better about, well, Ft. Worth.

There are a few down sides to the new Cowboy’s stadium being so much closer to Fort Worth. Traffic being one of them. In an attempt to alleviate the issue the city is trying to find logical places to shuttle in large amounts of people. Residents at the T&P Lofts are not to happy that this hits so close to home with them.

Apparently there had been talk of utilizing the loft’s visitor parking along Lancaster to provide shuttle rides to the new stadium. This has met with some residential resistance, and it is my understanding that city is promoting parking along Vickery as an alternative. A $5 Dollar parking fee and another $5 ride fee should take you all the way to the stadium.

I can sympathize with the T&P residents, but it seems that this would be a good thing for the south end of downtown. If they really want to build vickery up to be pedestrian friendly this would be a great draw. Surely there will be some congestion added, but it’s relatively rare and seasonal. Also part of living in a growing and thriving city center. Perhaps some gains in our public transportation could aid this cause further.

I was surprised when I saw this article saying that home sales were down 15%. I thought that the number of homes on the market was down. Sure enough they are. So if 15% of the supply goes away and 15% of the demand goes away I would say that things are just about on par.

Sometimes I wonder why I read the Dallas News at all.

I notice that an awful lot of vacant lots and standing properties which are owned by Village Homes are for sale. The interesting thing about it is that they seemed to selling these under the name of HD Homes. Of course the representative from HD Homes is a Village Homes employee. That’s all fine I suppose, but why the need to market the properties differently? It may even be safe to assume that the brand equity behind Village Homes would carry them farther than “HD Homes” would.
